THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

Lately, I've been hoping to get past the latest set of complications and I imagine what I hope will be the immediate future--- quiet days in my chair, reading, schmoozing on phone and email, and keeping up with my medications. Some good news is I just got the latest chemo approved for ONE YEAR until next NOVEMBER. So that's what Im hoping will happen--- quiet, relatively pain free, with lots to read and nice conversation with friends and colleagues. And maybe even a movie once in a while. But to get to that, I first have to get five pesky stitches removed and at weekly shots that should revive my energy. Let's see what happens.

Sorry to hear about your fall, what a drag. At least you had good care, and did not get stuck in the hosp. What books do you have lined up? Just curious, I am looking for a good book, someone recommended Henry Roth, which I am going to give a try. Best wishes.

As most of you already know, our wonderful Marty, my dear husband, died on December 29, 2006. Our family and his colleagues held a memorial service for him at Babson College last Sunday--it was beautiful, loving, and full of the laughter and spirit that were so much a part of him. We are planning to create a Marty website, and to that end, I encourage all to send their memories of Marty to an email address. When the website is ready, we will move the material to the site. The email address is martytroppmemorial@gmail.com Thanks to you all for writing to Marty via his blog during those last twenty months. I hope that we can all find the courage Marty showed within ourselves so that we can carry on without him. Best to you all from Marty's devoted wife, Sandy.
